What You'll Do in This Position
Manage and direct engineering and design of In-house and/or subcontractors for multiple projects, tasks, and/or division managed modifications by coordination of engineering, interfacing with project managers, systems engineering manager, construction managers, operations managers, engineering managers, functions engineering managers, division chief engineer's organization, project controls, procurement, and other service/support groups.
Provide overall engineering and design direction, leadership and management for assigned projects and tasks. Integrate and manage engineering resources for assigned projects, by assisting in establishing design criteria, staffing plans, schedules and engineering tools for engineering tasks. Provide administrative direction to assigned leads and managers. Responsible for overall management, scheduling, and priority of the tasks and projects assigned. Manage the administration, document control, project control and quality engineering sections for all assigned projects through section supervisors. Resolve conflicts between project direction and technical direction from the functional managers. Participate in department and site wide programmatic issues resolution and quality improvements. Responsible for staffing, evaluating, and developing a reporting organization capable of achieving the objectives of the projects assigned. Manage activities of subcontractors to ensure design output meets project technical, cost and schedule objectives. Establish baselines for design activities for all assigned projects and engineering work requests. Recommend to project manager, subcontractor authorizations for new work and changes to baselines. Evaluate project cost and schedule variances and implement corrective actions. Manage cost accounts for procurement of engineered materials. Establish projects scope of work including assuring that there is firm customer requirements developed.
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. Bachelor degree in engineering

Qualifications We Desire
Experience in engineering/project management preferred.
In-depth knowledge of: planning and control of interdisciplinary activities, design discipline responsibilities, quality aspects for design control methods and procedures, cost and schedule applications, and construction practices. Working knowledge of subcontracting and procurement practices.
Ability to apply beyond basic engineering principles, concepts, and practices, to resolve site wide programmatic issues and establishing an organization capable of achieving all objectives of the division.
Advanced knowledge of corporate, company and department goals and policies and procedures; well developed communication and supervisory skills.
Update training in company policies/procedures as changes occur.
