Job site Environment : Construction sites

Job Scope : The Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for private and public projects, including

commercial, industrial, and municipal projects based on their understanding of construction plans,

specifications, and their knowledge of this industry. Provides continuous monitoring of open bids, RFP s

and estimates to inform management of either new business awards or lost opportunities.

Job Duties :

Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements;setting

priorities.

• Prepares construction budget by studying plans;specifications;identifying and estimating costs.
• Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
• Obtains bids from vendors and sub contractors;identifies qualified sub contractors;negotiates

prices.

communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

professional publications;establishing personal networks;participating in professional societies.

Job Requirements :

Preferred : Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Required : 5 to 7 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on

heavy construction.

Shifts / Hours : Monday - Friday ( Must be able to work some overtime

0700-5PM

Pay Range : $70, 000 per year DOE
