Purpose
Throughthe direction of DistributionLeadership, theDC Training&Safety Lead acts as front-linefloor leader, responsible for covering and observingthe completion of various warehouse trainings, inclusive of any necessary duties to ensure training of new hires and anyTeam Member in need of training. Itis the responsibility of the Training & Safety Leadto ensure Training Plan tasksare completed accurately. TheTrainingLeadpromotespositive Team Member relationsand ensures proper implementation of company rules and policies.TheTrainingLeadwill drive all training operations in asafemanner consistent with training objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead DC Floor training,from Day one,through progression,until completion, with the support of otherTeam Members
Support New Hire orientation
Function asthe Safety Lead within the DC, ensuring all Team Members are trained onsafety policies and proceduresand will support all safety initiatives directed by the EHS Director
Interact dailywithnewTeam Members to ensure theyreceiveproper safety and role specifictraining
Communicate with all DC Team Members regardingmonthly safety trainingsand ensure completion each month
Ensureall New Hire Training is complete, includingTraining Plans arefollowed, sign-off on various training milestones, and monitortraining completion in Learning Cart, with the support of theTalent Developmentteam
Perform the operational duties of trainingto includebut not limited to,PIT Training, Lifting Safely, VoCollectTraining, Emergency Procedures Training, LOTO, and Safe Practices
Ensure allnewTeam Members follow safety policies and proceduresduring training
Collaborate with Team Members, Supervisors and Managers to identifygaps in training and develop solutions, including but not limited to providing recommendations to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
CounselnewTeam Members in work-related activities, personal growth, or career development
Assess training needsofallDCTeam Members and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction
Schedule and instruct new Team Members on SOP processesand expectations
Provide direction to “supporttrainers”based on the needs of the DC
Performing Safety Observations on an “as needed”basis
Support DC production needswhen necessary,as directed by DC management
About You
Minimum 1 year of previousexperience in food distribution production environment preferred
Previousexperience in training andDC safetyis preferred
Ability to flex between shifts to support training initiatives
Proven adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Safety
Knowledgeableand currenton operational duties of a DCto include but not limited to, PIT Training, Lifting Safely, VoCollectTraining, Emergency Procedures Training, LOTO, and Safe Practicesstrongly preferred
Ability to adjust communication approach based on the context, audience, and subject matter
Strong attention to detail ensuring that procedures are followed accurately and safely
Basic computer skills requiredand knowledge of Microsoft tools
Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment
Good organizational andtime management skills; with ability to manage multiple projects
Bilingualism is desiredin some DC locations, having proficiencyin Spanish is preferred
Physical Requirements
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone,and other office equipment in the course ofa normal workday
Stooping, bending, twisting,and reaching may be requiredin completion of job duties
Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, squat, turn, reach, pull, push,and lift upto 85 pounds, in a fast-pacedenvironment for extended period of time
Must be able to stand and balance throughout the shift while operatingindustrial equipment
Regularly worksin freezers, coolersand refrigerators in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit
