Savin Engineers is seeking Assistant Superintendent needed to assist the Construction Manager’s General Superintendent and / or Project Manager to ensure that project plans, specifications, and procedures are followed in the field regarding quality, and overall client satisfaction. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the project’s MEP construction activities primarily, to meet specifications within budgeted cost by the scheduled completion date. Project is a 1930 building located at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Immediate Start.
Overall responsibilities :
- Coordinate with the campus all utility tie-ins and switch-overs.
- Conduct technical review of all MEP submittals.
- Oversee MEP project closeout and ensure all project requirements are met.
- Coordinate and schedule all required MEP jurisdictional inspections.
- Inspect the quality of work for compliance with design standards and ensure corrective action occurs if / when necessary.
- Directly coordinate field conditions with Owner, Architect, MEP Engineers, CM Project Manager, and General Superintendent
- Assist in review and approval of monthly requisitions
- Review validity and accuracy of proposed change orders
- Review logistics and phasing plans with General Superintendent
- Oversee all required levels of commissioning.
- Enforce safety requirements and protocols.
- Assist and backup the General Superintendent.
