What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Product Marketing (K-12 Science) position at Savvas Learning?
The Director, Product Marketing for K-12 Science is responsible for developing, monitoring, and directing the implementation of the marketing and promotional plans for both national and state-specific campaigns. Ensure that all marketing activities and plans across the K-12 product lines are implemented effectively. Working with cross-functional teams, this position will maximize opportunities to both ensure revenue growth and expanded penetration within existing markets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Must be able to provide creative and strategic vision for product launches and marketing campaigns.
- Must be able to communicate the vision and the unique feature set of their product line(s).
- Manage and mentor Marketing managers in the development, implementation, and monitoring of launch and marketing plans
- Oversee the develop a differentiated sales message, product packaging, integrated print and technology promotional materials, assist in sales presentations, and support sales strategies
- Work with the Director of Product Management, Marketing Services team, and sales to create and execute integrated campaigns that will increase market share and maximize revenue.
- Develop and manage marketing budgets.
- Review and respond to RFPs.
- Provide market and competitive insight and knowledge as part of the overall strategic planning for the Science Product lines.
- Work with Product Management to conduct competitive analyses and provide the sales force with effective competitive selling strategies.
- Work with Market Research to develop campaign market research in selected states.
- Coordinate with Corporate Communications in developing all PR campaigns
- Interact in the field with customers, sales reps, curriculum specialists, and others (travel approx. 20%) to keep a pulse on the market as it relates to new products, sales story and customer needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of five to seven years of managerial experience in educational publishing or a product marketing role.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills: Must be able to interact successfully with customers, sales force, management, and staff from related content areas.
