Director / VP, Business Development (Remote - BIOTECH)MUST HAVE LIFE SCIENCES EXPERIENCECompany : Start-up synthetic biology company, reshaping the landscape of human genome engineering through its proprietary platform. Our technology enables the production of new cell types with desired functions, phenotypes, and traits. Privately held and headquartered out of Tokyo, Japan.Location : The position is remote. The US office will launch mid-2025 in either Boston or San Francisco.Role : Explore new commercial partnerships with various biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.Seek further business opportunities and establish their business footprint in the US.Act as a liaison who facilitates business / scientific correspondence with current and new collaborators and business partners in the US.10% travel to business meetings and relevant conferences in the cell and gene therapy and genome editing field.Candidate Requirements : Advanced education in immunology, cell biology or biotechnology.8-10 years of life science industry experience working for business development function.Experience in ideating, sourcing and forming developmental partnerships between biotechnology companies.Ideally, prior experience in cell therapy, oncology, or genomics.Practical knowledge in gene editing and pharmaceutical product development process.Desirable Skills : Hands-on research experience with iPSCs, cellular engineering, and cell differentiation.Strong understanding of iPS cell biology and regenerative medicine.Cross-functional project management skills and team leadership experience.Compensation : Base pay starting at $180k for Director level.
