RECEPTIONIST
JOB DESCRIPTION

Permanent Part-Time Hourly, Non-Exempt (Monday - Thursday)

Purpose:
This position is our first line of communication to all who come or call seeking information or assistance at the church.
The answering of the phone and greeting of persons upon arrival with a friendly response is a priority.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Answer the phone and transfer calls.
2. Answer callers’ questions if knowledgeable and have correct information, otherwise forward to designated person.
3. Take messages and deliver them to intended recipients.
4. Call for telephone repairs if needed.
5. Greet visitors who enter the lobby and direct visitors to the persons or areas they need to visit.
6. Control access to the lobby door and to the door by the kitchen.
7. Assist those in need of financial help in compliance with our established protocol.
8. Order and maintain office supplies within Budget.
9. Maintain supply of copy paper and toner for the copy machines.
10. Call for copier repairs when needed.
11. Receive and distribute faxes.
12. Receive and notify employees of shipments.
13. Ensure the mail is ready to be picked up.
14. Sort and put-up incoming mail.
15. Voice mail calls to be answered each day and forwarded to appropriate person.
16. Stock coffee supplies and condiments in work room, kitchen and Fellowship Hall.
17. Keep lobby, receptionist office, and the work room clean throughout the day.
18. Stuff envelopes for mailings and attach mailing labels.
19. Assist in the preparation of mailings, brochures and bulletins as requested.
20. Other duties as assigned.

General Statement:
The high visibility of this position and the requirement to interact with church members, staff, and clergy requires adherence to professional standards of behavior. During the normal course of work, personal, private or confidential information must be handled with great care and discretion. The dress code will be business casual. Coordination and teamwork will be expected in all areas of work. Punctuality and courteousness are required. Administrative tasks will be assigned that can be done without interfering with normal communications (phone/visitors) and duties.
Work Schedule:
This is an hourly position with no benefits. The execution of normal duties and responsibilities will require 30 hours per week, not to exceed 35 hours per week, Monday thru Thursday.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
