Projects and Maintenance Applications Project Manager

Location : hybrid onsite (2-3 days / wk) / remote in Deer Park, TX (Greater Houston)

Duration : 6-12 month contract to hire

Apex Systems is working with a multinational oil and gas client to find a qualified Projects and Maintenance Applications Project Manager who can hit the ground running and help oversee end-to-end project management, with expertise in Refinery Project, Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround Tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects within deadlines and budget constraints while ensuring adherence to high-quality standards. The Project Manager will work on-site a few days a week to manage and lead the project team and ensure project objectives are met.

The candidate must seek to understand the Refinery core business processes and will be responsible for defining Project methodologies, best practices, policies & procedures, and define overall implementation standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resources for assigned projects.
• Immediate focus will be on an Oracle Primavera and MCI Track upgrades as well as a Phase 2 , Hexagon Ecosys implementation.
• Monitor project progress and manage risks, issues, and changes that may arise.
• Lead and facilitate project meetings and communication with project stakeholders (internal staff and external vendors).
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of project outcomes.
• Provide regular status updates and progress reports to senior management.
• Experience managing project financials and creating and reviewing Project Business Cases & ROI (return on investment) value propositions.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to assess project success and identify areas for improvement.
• Work on-site on a hybrid remote basis to provide oversight and leadership to the project team.
