Job Title: Spa Specialist
FLSA Classification: Nonexempt (Hourly)
Salary Range: $16.39 - $17.50, per hour
Reports to: Spa Director
Job Description
Summary/objective: The Spa Specialist, will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the facility including, but not limited to: daily operations and sales through ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction are attained.

- Greet each guest, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive experience.
- Conforms to AAA Four Diamond Standards.
- When appropriate, up sell products and services
- Ensures guest satisfaction through adherence to Saybrook Point Inn & Spa policies and procedures.
- Works as a team with coworkers to ensure the cleanliness of locker rooms and all common areas, including relaxation lounge and boutique areas on an hourly basis.
- Relaxation lounge- fill and maintain snacks, polish apples daily- stems up, fill teas, ice in lemon water, etc.
- Boutique- merchandise and keep things picked up and clean. Re-merchandise as needed to provide a fresh look.
- Answers phones and takes spa reservations to maximize revenue- through up selling, cross selling, to increase room occupancy and therapist/spa revenue.
- Provides excellent customer service- by creating a welcome and warm environment, a friendly attitude, suggestive selling for services and retail products.
- Helps monitor guest feedback through the use of comment cards and other customer care techniques.
- Performs effective daily operations including opening and closing procedures, facility inspections, cash handling procedures, and general facility maintenance
- Maintains product knowledge and has complete knowledge of benefits of product and services.
- Assists with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for daily operations, special events, etc.
- Recommends products for home use and meets monthly sales goals.
- Answers guests questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
- To attend all mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Work environment
- Working conditions are based in a hospitality setting.
- Associates may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- Noise level in work environment is usually moderate.
- Exposure to cleaning solvents and chemicals.

- Language Skills: Working knowledge of the English language is mandatory as well as the ability to speak, read and write clearly.

Required education and experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Make customers feel important, valued and appreciated in a manner that will be acknowledged by the customers.
- Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Maintains high standards for work area and appearance and presents self in highly professional manner to staff and guest.
