Overview
SB Maintenance currently contracts with 27 condominium associations in Chicago, the Northwest and the North Shore suburbs to clean and maintain the common areas of condominium buildings. The Cleaning Technician (CT) will be responsible for the cleaning and light maintenance of the common areas primarily in our North and Northwest Suburban locations. We are a route cleaning and maintenance business. Some outdoor work is required. Willingness to travel to various client locations (condo buildings) is required. Maintenance and handyman repair experience is desired. Duties include but are not limited to: mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, vacuuming, changing light bulbs and various repairs. In addition to cleaning and maintenance/repairs, the CT will interact with condo association board members, residents/unit owners, other property vendors and property managers.
Requirements:
Good communication skills, a positive attitude and a friendly nature.
A smartphone: Schedules, work orders and mileage reimbursement are issued via various smartphone required apps;
Access to a vehicle
Completion of a drug test and background check
This position requires a commitment to high standards of cleanliness, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of designated common areas such as hallways, lobbies, laundry rooms etc .
- Utilize appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure effective sanitation.
- Follow established cleaning procedures and protocols to maintain safety standards.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Manage time efficiently to complete tasks within scheduled hours.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and concerns professionally.
Experience
- Previous experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and techniques is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.
- Maintenance and handyman skills are desired

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
