What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Business Valuation & Litigation Support Accountant position at SBF Advisors?
Lead on all engagements/cases and is responsible for advising clients with expert reports and analysis during litigation and investigations matters in order to assist them in legal recoveries or defense.
Essential Functions:
- Primary liaison for all client related matters of engagements
- Manage all detailed fact finding and accounting research and analysis
- Directs and develops computer models including detailed and potentially complex spreadsheet analysis
- Responsible for data gathering activities including document review and supervision, and quality control of data entry activities
- Leads appropriate Firm members and others as appropriate
- Responsible for engagement planning
- Prepares client communications for senior level review
Skills Required:
- Provides quality services clearly apparent to clients while utilizing sound business judgment
- Understanding of corporate and individual tax issues, accounting principles and financial models
- Effectively utilizes information technology in performing and managing the engagement
- Submits well documented and effective presentation of issues researched, identified and resolved
- Thoroughly understands total litigation process and manages multiple engagements simultaneously
- Keeps Director apprised of engagement thrusts and client concerns and regularly prepares client status reports
- Achieves agreed upon profitability objectives
- Helps identify key client issues and their main concerns, extracting implications for future work
- Performs thorough review of engagement documentation and identifies all issues
- Work is completely accurate, self-reviewed and ready for attack by opposing counsel
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Certification/Degree preferred as an accounting major, CPA, MBA, ABV, CVA, CFF and/or CFE
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities
- 5 years of experience in auditing, accounting, business valuation, report delivery, financial consulting, and/or financial modeling
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing in English
- Works with confidential client matters, requires ability to keep matters confidential
- Prior experience working in a CPA firm
