We are looking for a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer (Zero Trust Architecture) to join our team. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced individual who is hard working with the ability to excel in a challenging, fast-paced government contractor environment. The position location is remote.
OVERVIEW
The Sr Cyber Security Engineer (ZTA) will analyze cybersecurity, Zero Trust, and architectural principles including overlays and points of intersection between operations and security to develop implementation strategies.
Responsibilities
The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer (ZTA) will:
- Translate cybersecurity principles and guidelines into technical requirements including review/analysis impacts to Product Lines.
- Assess architectural, security controls, and environmental impacts to Products and support structure.
- Analyze complex guidance, policy, and memorandums on a wide variety of VA IT programs, and quickly develop responses to these requests.
- Review Enhanced Engineering Practices published by OCTO when evaluating potential solutions for implementation in Platforms like VA Platform One (VAPO) and GitHub.com.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders including SPM, CTO, PE, and IO to validate SPM Codes and Inputs, ensuring accuracy and completeness in SPM Technical Roadmaps, enhancing the strategic outlook of the proposed technical roadmap components.
- Evaluate Portfolio Technical Roadmaps for alignment with Enterprise Architecture and Modernization strategies.
- Analyze and evaluate assigned actions to determine risks, impacts and/or strategies for implementation.
- After assigning a new action, the Contractor shall solicit and incorporate input the Contractor receives from the SME(s) to develop a plan or response.
- Upon receiving sufficient information from the SME(s), will translate the technical input provided by the SME(s) into professional, written, or visual (e.g., Excel or PowerPoint) communication that can be easily understood by high-ranking policy makers and officials who often possess only a layman understanding of the technical work being performed by VA IT developers and IT professionals.
- Vet drafted responses through the appropriate concurrence and approval authorities, upload the approved responses into the necessary correspondence systems, and submit the approved responses and any required ancillary materials to the requestor.
- Provide a single page executive summary on lengthy documents (more than three pages) that captures the key points and facts for executive leadership review.
- Master's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline with 10 years of experience is required. Ten (10) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Extensive IT experience in all aspects of Cyber Security with a vast array of IT systems involving end user as well as enterprise level networks.
- Experience in designing and implementing systems that meet agency Cyber Security policy and regulations.
- Extensive experience in Cyber Security Tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks.
