KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take charge of sample preparation by steaming and ironing soft goods.
- Keep all samples organized and set ready and ensure that samples are returned to inventory once photography is complete.
- Build and paint studio sets as needed.
- Assemble furniture and props as needed.
- Able to shop for necessary props depending on project: furniture, building supplies, home decor, clothes, and perishables (online or in stores).
- Style soft goods for ecommerce product shots with prioritized efficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to style guide specs.
- Work as the point of contact to receive, review, and prep samples.
- Use a digital tracking system to check in samples as they arrive.
- Research the latest photo, video, and social media trends in home decor.
- Partner with our Creative Studio Manager to maintain an understanding of our current and upcoming studio schedule.
- Help maintain the organization of prop and sample storage areas.
- Comfortable putting together set pieces (walls, windows, doorways), painting, and using basic power tools.
- Organized and highly detail oriented, able to spot discrepancies.
- Strong time management skills to keep things on track in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for design and style pertains to photography, home design, and fashion.
- Self-propelled problem-solving skills and solution driven individual.
- Efficient and effective communicator who can manage relationships across multiple departments.
- Tackles challenges without hesitation or complaints
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Computer savvy; Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Able to pivot when studio schedule changes due to urgent projects.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for possible set material runs or prop shopping. Position will be reimbursed for mileage accrued.
- Past experience working with textiles and on-set experience is preferred but not required.
- Post-secondary education in a creative or merchandising program.
- Experience working in a photography studio, film sets, or theatrical environments, as well as understanding the needs and demands of Stylists/Art Department.
