Job Summary
The Financial Planning Associate is a full-time, entry-level position providing technical support for both the Tax Advisor and Wealth Advisor. Responsibilities include data gathering and input, financial and cash flow modeling, scenario building, presentation creation, and preparation of income tax returns and projections. Working closely with the firm's Advisors, the Associate will develop comprehensive tax and financial planning skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Financial Planning Associate will focus on the following areas:
- Data Management: Gather, organize, and input client data within a tax and financial planning context.
- Financial Planning: Prepare detailed client financial plans, including cash flow and retirement analysis, and create presentations for review by Advisors.
- Deliverable Preparation: Review client agendas and prepare deliverables such as tax projections, performance reports, education funding analysis, social security analysis, and other tax and financial planning schedules for Advisor review.
- Tax Return Preparation: Prepare individual tax returns on a limited basis and for training purposes.
- Special Projects: Assist the Operations Team and Advisors with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Financial Planning Associate position will have the following qualifications:
- Solid academic track record
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Accounting or Finance majors preferred)
- CPA or CFP candidate (preferred)
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to set priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter, takes initiative
- Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
- Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment
