What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fish Ticket position at SBS Vessel Mgmt Co LLC?
As the Fish Ticket Person, you will be a vital member on one of our Alaskan tender vessels that will assist in varied ways to ensure and expedite all needs deemed necessary for the Fleet Team. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong math skills, and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced and often challenging environment. Key responsibilities include accurately weighing and recording fish catches, generating and issuing fish tickets to fishing vessels, maintaining detailed records of all transactions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety procedures, and assisting with other onboard duties as needed. In this position, you will ensure that the data and any questions are tended to immediately and properly recorded as needed. You will be required to have a strong work ethic, safety protocol, and attitude, while also helping out on the deck to record fish weights as needed.
Essential Functions/Qualifications
The responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Sort and distribute incoming fleet mail as needed.
- Record the correct fish, quantity and weights to include date, time and vessel as needed on deck.
- Maintain excel sheets and record-keeping for all vessels that deliver with complete accuracy.
- Enter catch data into T-Landings accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of the fishing area geography by names in order to properly communicate and understand vessel locations.
- Assist in managing marine radios, VHF & Satellite.
- Work with fleet managers to thoroughly collect critical data to maintain and update multiple spreadsheets daily to the fleet operations.
- Generate, receive, and maintain confidential and sensitives files, information and reports and ensure security of these files and information.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure the vessel and organization is fully supported and successful.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in the seafood or related industry is a plus.
- Customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
- A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
- A proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel is a huge plus, but not required.
Work Environment and Schedule
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Position requires presence on a fishing vessel in Alaska for the season, spending a significant amount of time on board the vessel in shared courters at sea.
Physical Demands
This position is physically demanding, often requiring long hours and exposure to harsh weather conditions. Fish Ticket Person may work in wet, slippery conditions, and they must be able to stand for extended periods and climb ladders and other structures. Additionally, the work can be physically exhausting, requiring stamina and endurance. Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employees are frequently required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

Excellent in working as a team with good work ethics, good decision-making skills and is occasionally required to use interpersonal skills, mentoring, problem analysis, training, and supervision skills. Able to multitask in a very stressful and fast-paced work environment. Pay attention to details and have a high level of accuracy, be flexible and stress resistant.
