Service Advisor/Writer

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer/Advisor to join our Heavy Duty (Class 8) service department team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between clients and the service department. This role requires a strong background in customer service, automotive repair, and effective communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient service operations.

Duties
- Communicate with customers in-person and on phone; and assess their service needs, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.
- Document customer concerns and service requests accurately in the system.
- Prepare detailed service estimates for repairs, including parts and labor costs.
- Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Collaborate with mechanics to ensure detailed information regarding repairs and services needed.
- Maintain organized records of service orders, invoices, and customer interactions.
- Follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status and ensure timely completion of services.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a service writing role or similar position within the automotive/trucking industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive/truck repair processes, including diesel engine repair, oil changes, air brake systems, and general mechanic duties.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
- Proficiency in estimating and ability to transmit information accurately between customers and technicians.
- Ability to upsell services while maintaining integrity and trust with customers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A passion for the automotive industry and a willingness to learn about new technologies and services.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
