About The Role
As the Associate Manager, Global Procurement-IT you will be in a key role within the Procurement Portfolio. You will support the IT, IS, SSC and Data Management functions for SC Johnson. You will support and deliver Cost and Cash savings and drive strategies that align with both business and company initiatives. This role will support the Manager, Global Procurement – IT to accomplish these goals.
Together, this team of two will manage the end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement process for BPT categories, representing approximately $130MM in annual expenditures, while partnering closely with key stakeholders. This role is responsible for administrative functions within our P2P tools, compliance with the Global Procurement Policy, and internal stakeholder alignment.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Together with the BPT Procurement Manager, define the BPT-Procurement Strategy to establish supply sources, maximize current and future market conditions, and define contingency planning to ensure critical supply needs are met
- You will have direct responsibility for developing and implementing the sourcing strategy of selected subcategories globally
- You will engage with internal customers to understand their needs and summarize business requirements as input into enterprise-wide sourcing efforts; work to identify, prioritize and manage requirements for current, new and future activities
- Evaluate performance metrics for owned categories; Tracking and reporting on performance metrics
- Drive engagement of procurement with the business teams to optimize value creation and delivery to SCJ
- Build a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across suppliers and spend categories
- Engage in mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers; Participate in joint business planning with supply base
- Analyze metrics and evaluate approaches to meet business objectives and benefit targets; Participate in the quarterly business review process for key suppliers;
- Build strong supplier relationships and participate in effectively managing category supply base, negotiations, and supplier selection
- Work to help resolve issues where necessary (supplier quality and service)
- Lead IT/IS procurement activities (category and project), including strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract management; Facilitate expedient and compliant implementation of new contracts throughout organization
- Lead sourcing initiatives, including total cost of ownership model development, category strategy development, fact-based negotiation strategy development & execution, supplier evaluation & selection, and category implementation
- Lead analysis of vendor and internal performance against contracts, industry benchmarks, and previous baselines on a quarterly basis. Assist in the development of reports for executive management
- Develop, document, and execute global category strategies in collaboration with stakeholders to achieve functional and organizational objectives
- Lead the preparation and evaluation of RFIs and RFPs
- Participate in the roll-out of new vendor contracts and processes to all users
- Build strong understanding of P2P processes and Global Procurement Policy as it applies to BPT
- Develop and manage stakeholder relationships and influence stakeholders to align with industry best practices in support of applicable SCJ strategies
- Drive efforts to understand internal customer needs and summarize business requirements as input into enterprise-wide sourcing efforts; support the requirements for current, new and changing corporate activities;
- Engage internal partners to communicate solution recommendations based on category, market and sourcing information
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or similar industry or military experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
- Min 5 years professional experience in procurement/strategic sourcing. Experience in a related field may be considered as an alternative
- Min 1 year in IT/IS procurement
- Masters/MBA preferred
- Experience with modern procurement processes, systems and tools
- Experience leading or assisting with supplier negotiations
- Experience with cross-functional and global teams
- Strategic, analytical and conceptual skills experience
