We are hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for a 5x8 shift (3pm-11:30pm) to float between Inpatient, Cardiac Observations and the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The RN will provide high-quality patient care and ensure safety, aligned with SCA’s mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Monitor cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological systems, and airway management. Interpret monitoring data and recognize common disease processes.
- Care Planning & Implementation: Develop care plans, ensure patient safety, adhere to infection control standards, and administer medications correctly.
- Pain & Comfort Management: Manage acute pain and maintain wound integrity, fluid, and tissue perfusion.
- Patient Education & Communication: Educate patients/support persons on medical care, pain management, and recovery.
- Collaboration: Communicate patient status, provide accurate hand-off reports, and participate in team-based care planning and quality improvement efforts.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure accurate, legible documentation and follow facility policies. Maintain confidentiality and participate in ongoing competency assessments.
- Other: Delegate tasks as appropriate, participate in safety huddles, and contribute to professional growth and resource management.
Qualifications:
- RN licensure and BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Experience in inpatient cardiac care or ASC preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and adaptability to floating between two settings.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
- One year of acute care and/or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
- Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
- Successful completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
