What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at SCAD - Savannah College of Art and Design?
As a housekeeper, you will perform cleaning and housekeeping services in assigned areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, guest rooms, laundry and storage rooms, offices, and common areas. You will provide a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment for employees, students, and guests. You will clean floors, dust surfaces, wash towels, empty trash, and make beds. You will greet guests at building entrances to ensure proper hospitality, respond promptly to their needs and issues, and report and return any guest property found in rooms after checkout.
In this position, you will monitor and maintain cleaning and janitorial supplies, manage property inventory, and organize shelves. You will clean, disinfect, and store all equipment properly at the end of each shift; follow daily housekeeping checklists for detailed cleanings; and report any property damage to your supervisor. Working with a team of housekeepers, you will ensure the proper functioning of washing machines, dryers, pressers, steam cleaners, and other equipment. You will promptly report any maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or structural repair needs to your supervisor. To ensure safe practices, you will follow all SCAD and OSHA policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will demonstrate keen attention to detail. The candidate will adhere to SCAD's guest possessions and privacy policies while always maintaining confidentiality and a professional appearance.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least five years of residential housekeeping experience
- Reliable vehicle
