A growing fashion brand is seeking a detail-driven Technical Designer to join its product development team and support the execution of high-quality lifestyle garma from concept through production.
This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a strong understanding of garment construction, pattern-making, and fit. The Technical Designer will be responsible for ensuring design intent is maintained through each stage of development while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across design, sourcing, and production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate design concepts into accurate technical packages, including detailed specs, construction details, and measurement charts.
- Lead fit sessions, provide fit comments, and ensure timely communication with factories to implement necessary adjustments.
- Track development samples and coordinate corrections through various prototype stages, ensuring alignment with timelines.
- Partner with designers, patternmakers, product developers, and overseas vendors to ensure consistent product quality and execution.
- Own the creation and maintenance of tech packs in alignment with brand standards and seasonal calendars.
- Review top-of-production samples for consistency, fit, and construction quality before production is finalized.
- Maintain up-to-date records of fit comments, graded specs, approvals, and construction revisions.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in a technical design role within the apparel industry.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel; experience with PLM systems a plus.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, specs, and grading.
- Ability to interpret design vision and execute with precision and attention to detail.
- Confident leading fit sessions and communicating clear, actionable feedback to vendors.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach.
