We're Scan.com, the digital health scale-up making diagnostics accessible, fast, and transparent. From MRIs to tests for TBIs, our technology speeds up diagnoses for timely treatments, improving healthcare outcomes for hundreds of patients each day.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRI Technician to join our imaging team. The MRI Technician is responsible for operating MRI equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning during the imaging process. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.

WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN:

Patient Care and Preparation

  • Explain MRI procedures to patients to ensure understanding and reduce anxiety
  • Position patients correctly to obtain accurate diagnostic images while ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Review patient medical histories and verify contraindications such as metal implants or allergies
  • Monitor patients during scans to ensure safety and address any concerns

Imaging Procedures

  • Operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality images of the designated body areas as ordered by physicians
  • Ensure the imaging process adheres to established safety standards and protocols
  • Adjust machine settings (e.g., resolution) to optimize image quality based on the area being scanned
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure that images meet diagnostic requirements

Equipment Management

  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of MRI equipment
  • Ensure all imaging equipment is functioning correctly and promptly report any malfunctions or service needs
  • Maintain a clean and safe imaging environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Documentation and Records

  • Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging reports and any observations made during the scan
  • Input and retrieve patient information using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Ensure proper labelling and secure storage of imaging files

Compliance and Safety

  • Adhere to all safety protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and ACR standards
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations, such as adverse reactions or equipment malfunctions

WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) State licensure as required by law
  • 1-3 years of experience as an MRI Technician preferred
  • Familiarity with MRI equipment and imaging software
  • Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and understanding diagnostic imaging techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify imaging inconsistencies or artifacts
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy

HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU:

We keep our interview process short and sweet, and we're a nimble team that can progress at pace. Here are the stages you can expect, but we might switch up the order of each step depending on team availability:

  • Introductory call/interview with Devin, our Senior Talent Partner. The call is via telephone and will last around 30 minutes
  • Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you to a video call with the hiring manager for around 45 minutes. This is a more structured interview that will deep-dive into the role and technical needs
  • All of our roles will have a small assessment stage. This might be in person, a take-home assessment, or further video calls. Length varies, but we're mindful of your time and try to keep it as simple as possible
  • Offer!
