What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teachers Aid position at Scarlet Covering, Inc?
• Plan activities for children, such as storytelling or art projects, follow developmentally
appropriate lesson plans
• Help organize the classroom and plan intellectual activities for children, per the lead
teacher's requests
• Read to children teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs
• Instruct children in health personal habits, like eating, resting, and toilet habits
• Observe monitor children’s play activities
• Keep records on individual children, daily observations information about activities,
evaluate students' social development and physical well-being.
• Instruct and supervise children in social and developmental activities,
• Perform general administrative tasks such as taking attendance and point of service
• Assist in preparing food as well as serving meals and refreshments to children
• Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas
• Provide one-on-one attention when needed
• Regulate children’s rest periods
• Interacts with children, preparing snacks, teaching children about numbers, colors and
shapes, helping them get dressed and changing their diapers when needed.
• Be prepared to take on the role of lead teacher when needed.
• Use materials designed to aid children who have developmental disabilities. Helping
children with exercises and games designed to facilitate their development.
• Find new experiences to share with children.
• Must keep classroom clean (ex. sanitizes toys play equipment, wipe tables & chairs, keep
windows, cabinets, and counter tops clean, etc.), safe, and free of materials that could be
hazardous to children
• Maintain a safe play environment
• Perform housekeeping duties, cleaning, dish washing, and also changing of linens
• Organize, store toys and materials to make sure there is order in the activity areas
• Help children with homework and schoolwork
• And other duties as assigned by management
