Our next VP of Operations at Scarlet Hope must be a mission-driven, strategic, and world-class leader responsible for leading the organization's operational, financial, development, and communications functions. This significant role ensures Scarlet Hope’s team, programs and services are optimized, run hard and embody the organization’s commitment to providing hope and transformative support to women.

This role will both report and work closely with the Founder & President, the VP of Operations will drive operational efficiency, program success, and fundraising efforts, supporting Scarlet Hope’s vision through both high-level strategy and direct impact on the team. 


What We Expect:
  1. Strategic Operational Leadership
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive strategies that align operational priorities with Scarlet Hope’s mission and vision.
  3. Drive continuous improvement across the organization by refining policies, procedures, and workflows, ensuring consistent, mission-aligned growth.
  4. Oversee the budgeting and financial management process in partnership with Finance & HR, ensuring optimal resource allocation to achieve organizational goals.

  5. Development & Fundraising
  6. Collaborate with the Development team to create and execute strategies that expand fundraising efforts, including donor acquisition, engagement, and stewardship.
  7. Actively participate in cultivating major donor relationships, building strong connections with foundations, corporate sponsors, and other key funding sources.
  8. Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives, including grant writing and proposal development to increase financial support for Scarlet Hope’s mission.

  9. Communications & Marketing
  10. Lead the Communications team to develop a cohesive brand voice that resonates with Scarlet Hope’s mission and community.
  11. Guide the creation of impactful marketing campaigns and content, including digital and social media strategies that increase Scarlet Hope’s visibility and engage new audiences.
  12. Oversee the development and distribution of all communications materials, ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging that inspires support and builds community trust.
  13. Program Oversight & Expansion
  14. Partner with the VP of Mission Integration to enhance current programs and identify opportunities for expansion into new cities or regions, ensuring sustainable growth.
  15. Support local advisory committees in various cities, providing guidance and resources to ensure effective implementation and consistent program quality.
  16. Implement regular program evaluations to assess impact, refine initiatives, and scale best practices across all operational areas.
  17. Team Leadership & Development
  18. Mentor and develop high-performing teams across Finance, HR, Development, and Communications, fostering a collaborative culture that promotes both individual and organizational growth.
  19. Establish clear goals and performance metrics for each department, encouraging a results-driven environment with a strong emphasis on mission alignment.
  20. Cultivate a culture of servant leadership, encouraging team members to embody Scarlet Hope’s values and treat all stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  21. Compliance & Risk Management
  22. Ensure organizational compliance with government regulations, including labor laws, financial reporting requirements, and nonprofit governance standards.
  23. Collaborate with the Legal & Compliance team to manage risks and implement safeguards, protecting Scarlet Hope’s assets and reputation.
  24. Conduct regular audits of financial, operational, and program processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical practices.
  25. Board and Partner Engagement
  26. Act as a liaison with the National Executive Board, providing regular operational updates, performance reports, and strategic recommendations.
  27. Represent Scarlet Hope in meetings with major ministry partners, corporate sponsors, and community leaders to deepen relationships and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
  28. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  29. Lead an innovation program aimed at identifying areas for improvement across operational processes and program delivery.
  30. Encourage a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation among team members, promoting flexibility and resilience in the face of challenges.
  31. Implement technology solutions and data-driven decision-making practices to enhance Scarlet Hope’s operational effectiveness and impact.


Your Story & Capacity:
  1. Education & Experience
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  3. Significant experience in nonprofit management, particularly in operations, development, or program management within ministry or faith-based organizations.
  4. Proven success in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations, with a strong understanding of effective development practices for faith-based organizations.
  5. Experience in communications and marketing, with a focus on brand-building, storytelling, and digital engagement.
  6. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  7. Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  8. Proficient in financial management, budgeting, and compliance, with the ability to oversee complex projects and multiple priorities.
  9. Demonstrated leadership in building high-performance teams, with a commitment to servant leadership and fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture.
  10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders, including board members, donors, and community partners.
  11. Commitment to Scarlet Hope’s faith-based mission, with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for sharing hope and compassion.
