What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAFE SOUS CHEF position at SCARLET PEARL CASINO RESORT?
Description
Coordinate and facilitate all food preparation, presentation, and service procedures as directed by the Executive Chef and/or Room Chef Monitor quality and quantity of prepared food. Ensure proper rotation and utilization of stored food to prevent waste. Performs the duties of the Room Chef in their absence. Implements all OSHA, ServSafe and HACCP standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Café or similar restaurant environment and/or production kitchen management.
Minimum two (2) years of direct leadership experience in training staff, assigning work, managing performance, and allocating resources.
Experience with and knowledge of applicable regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
Strong leadership skills and customer service orientation required.
Basic computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of various hospitality information management support systems preferred.
Must be knowledgeable of, and consistently apply health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
Must be able to use oral, written and reading communication skills of the English language.
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout shift.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to work in close quarters or small rooms; occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certificates.
