Location: Rancho Cordova, CA (Sacramento area) – On-site at Scenic Vans warehouse
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Overview:
Join the rapidly growing Scenic Vans team, where we specialize in custom van upfitting and rentals. We're looking for an organized and proactive Warehouse Inventory Associate to ensure our build teams have the materials they need. You'll manage daily inventory and warehouse operations, including receiving, organizing, and distributing parts, maintaining accurate records, and operating a forklift; you will also work closely with the company’s procurement manager. Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate counts of all parts, supplies, and materials
- Perform regular cycle counts and audits
- Organize stock in designated locations
- Ensure all needed materials are on hand by informing the purchasing manager when reorders are needed.
Receiving & Quality Assurance:
- Receive deliveries of parts and supplies
- unpack and verify contents against purchase orders and packing lists
- Inspect incoming items for any damage, defects, or discrepancies
- Ensure all received goods are accurately logged
Material Handling & Storage:
- Operate a forklift (and pallet jack/hand truck) to offload trucks, move pallets, and shelve heavy materials safely.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols when operating equipment.
- Keep the warehouse aisles, racks, and floor area clean, safe, and free of hazards.
Order Picking & Project Staging:
- Pull and prepare parts and materials needed for each van build project or work order.
- Deliver materials to the appropriate workstations or technicians.
Shipping & Errands:
- Pack and ship outgoing items when required (generally returns).
- Run local errands to pick up parts or materials from hardware stores
Warehouse Organization & Maintenance:
- Consolidate or rearrange inventory for efficiency and space utilization.
- Keep an updated inventory location map if needed.
- Ensure the warehouse is tidy by the end of each day.
Record-Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain clear records of inventory movements.
- Keep simple daily and/or weekly reports on inventory status (e.g. parts received, parts issued to projects, discrepancies noted).
- Assist with any year-end or periodic inventory audits.
Team Collaboration & Work Ethic:
- Communicate with project managers or lead technicians about any part delays or substitutions. .
- Strong work ethic with a track record of dependability and self motivation.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude. Being teamwork-oriented is crucial; we have a small, tight-knit team, and we all wear multiple hats when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or inventory control role. (More experience is a plus)
- Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse setting. If you are not currently certified, you must be willing and able to complete certification training, in house, upon hire.
- Comfortable using computers or mobile devices for inventory management. Experience with any inventory software and/or Google Sheets is beneficial. Must be able to use an iPad (provided) to enter data, take photos of items, and communicate via email or messaging apps as needed.
- Ability to keep things organized and accurate
- Capable of regular manual labor including lifting or moving objects up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
