FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER
Scenic Ridge is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our dynamic team as the Construction Field Operations Manager. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing and managing daily field operations for various construction trades and projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all field operations for assigned construction projects, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Recommend capital expenditures for the division and ensure return on investment
- Review divisional financial statements and make goals and decisions for the division that are profitable
- Coordinate and schedule daily activities of construction crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of the project.
- Manage and supervise Coordinators, Foreman, laborers, tradespeople, subcontractors, and other personnel as needed
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards, including OSHA guidelines.
- Review and approve project progress reports, daily logs, and other documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide recommendations for annual tool/ equipment purchases while managing resources efficiently to stay within budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and implement plans to resolve issues that may arise on the construction site.
- Regularly present on site to ensure the work is being completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
- Train and manage Coordinators, Foreman, and all Field Staff daily
- Lead meetings with executive level managers as well as subordinates as necessary
- Create a positive culture and high employee morale
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High school diploma but a degree or professional certification in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Construction Management or Construction Operations. 5 years’ experience preferred
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Proven experience in managing or assistant managing groups of 40 individuals.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, techniques, safety standards, and local building codes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with executives and subordinates
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently, with a strong focus on results.
Successful applicant will be required to work 10-12 hours in a field and shop environment and would be based on a 40 hour workweek.
