Overview
Scentsy is looking for a Logistics Analyst II to manage the day-to-day transportation and logistics planning activities to support domestic Full Truck Load (FTL), Less than Truck Load (LTL), transload, rail, and air freight shipments and trade compliance.
What You Would Do:
- Facilitate all domestic FTL, LTL, rail, and air freight needs and ensure that each shipment adheres to its intended delivery schedule
- Manage domestic FTL, LTL, and air carrier relationships and ensure Scentsy has all documents (Master Service Agreement (MSA), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and rates) are current and ready for execution of freight decisions
- Provide detailed analysis for annual freight bids for FTL, LTL, and air freight, process improvement initiatives, vendor and supplier score cards, and ongoing key positive indicator analysis
- Assist with planning and coordinating specialty logistics needs for Scentsy events and tradeshows
- Manage freight auctions for truck load shipments based on spot-rate markets and execute as needed
- Manage Transportation Management System(TMS) for all modes of service, build ad-hoc based reporting and update the organization on freight trends
- Track and trace freight and provide status updates on freight movement to customers
- Identify and resolve problems which could delay the timely movement of freight and report on problem shipments
- Compile and report weekly and monthly logistic key point indicators (KPI’s), including forecasted freight needs
- Audit freight bills to determine proper charges from transportation and logistics suppliers
- Work closely with Global Logistics Manager, and other internal groups, to identify and implement cost savings initiatives
- Coordinate with suppliers and Supply Chain to ensure that each supplier is providing needed information and appropriate documentation, as required, in a timely manner
- Coordinate the submission and management of freight claims
- Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and carriers to enhance internal and external customer service standards
- Determine National Motor Freight Classification(NMFC) for all products moving via LTL truck
- Develop domestic landed cost models for Product Development and provide reporting when needed
- Support Sr. Trade Compliance Specialist on international trade projects (NAFTA, HTS Back-up, Export shipment audits)
- Compliance SAP support
- Provide support for transload operations and facilitate FTLs as needed
- Facilitate domestic and international small package shipments as needed
- Provide timely and accurate data analysis and industry intelligence to facilitate process improvement activities and yearly freight bids
- Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed
You Should Have:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of transportation/logistics or related experience
- 4+ years of ERP experience
- Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Training a plus
- Certified Export and/or Customs Specialist (CES/CCS)
Things You Should Know & Be Able to Do:
- Intermediate understanding of Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations regarding the proper and legal manner to move freight
- Working knowledge of various modes of transportation, including FTL, LTL, rail, air, as well as an understanding of industry trends
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning system (ERP) such as SAP
- Knowledge of Global Logistics Tracking and Optimization systems
- Knowledge of Import/Export Regulations governed by Customs Authorities
- Strong working knowledge of HTS classification
- Up-to-date industry knowledge
- Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Working knowledge of computers and all applicable software
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to interface and fully navigate within SAP inventory management and warehouse control systems
- Ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks in high stress situations
- Strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical abilities
- Ability to function independently
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferred
- 4+ years of transportation/logistics or related experience
- 4+ years of ERP experience
- HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials Training) a plus
Expectations:
- Self-motivated, self-starter, and have great interpersonal skills
- Adhere to all established procedures, policies and safety rules as outlined by the Company
- Expected to work 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required
- Some travel may be required domestically
