Job Summary:
The Program Manager leads the growth and success of the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation’s Player & Youth Development (PYD) program in Riverside County and Orange County. This position oversees program delivery across multiple community sites, manages a team of full-time Golf Instructors and part-time Youth Coaches, and ensures a high-quality, positive experience for all participants.
The Program Manager will drive community engagement efforts, support the development of local partnerships and advisory committees, and lead team performance and development. As a key member of the Foundation team, this role is instrumental in upholding organizational values and advancing our mission through youth development and golf.
This is a full-time, salaried position with a compensation of $70,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.
What You’ll Do:
Program & Team Management
Program & Team Management
- Plan, schedule, and deliver PYD programming that aligns with the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation’s mission and goals.
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of staff and volunteers, providing ongoing supervision, coaching, and development.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring excellence in safety, participant satisfaction, program quality, and team performance.
- Manage program budgets and expenses, maintaining compliance with financial guidelines.
- Lead the implementation of strategic growth initiatives and program improvements.
- Support long- and short-term planning in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Build strong relationships with local schools, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate community outreach efforts and represent the Foundation at local events to increase visibility and program participation.
- Recruit, train, and retain volunteers; manage scheduling and assignments to support efficient program delivery.
- Collaborate with community partners and manage the local community committee to support program goals.
- Track and evaluate outreach and recruitment metrics to assess effectiveness and guide future efforts.
Golf Instruction & Program Delivery
- Serve as a lead golf instructor across beginner to advanced levels, modeling best practices in safety and youth engagement.
- Enforce and implement safety standards and SCGA Junior policies at all program locations.
- Lead department-wide PYD initiatives and support instructors in delivering high-quality instruction.
- Build strong relationships with participants, families, and facility partners to promote retention and growth.
Other Responsibilities
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including youth development, coaching, and golf instruction certifications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required; 3–5 years of youth development experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of golf instruction experience preferred.
- Demonstrated passion for junior golf and positive youth development.
- Knowledge of the game of golf and instructional techniques.
- Proven ability to lead and develop diverse teams in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Effective communicator with strong presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and implement process improvements.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to meet performance and quality expectations as set by the Foundation.
