Position Overview: This position has responsibility for Plan/Spec and design build quotations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Plan & Spec Project
- Receive project assignments from Construction Coordinator
- Complete project qualification form
- Formulate approximate project budget based on product documentation and contractor supplied quantities
- Review drawings and notes (Hard Copy or on Dodge)
- Review any applicable one-line drawings
- Review Project Specifications
- Identify appropriate certifications or requirements (Buy American, Minority participation, etc.)
- Verify extra material requirements
- Substitution Provisions
- Decide level of material standards set by project documentation
- Assemble material takeoff / Bill of material.
- Develop Bid Strategy, Communicate with Vendors, Contractors and Outside sales.
- Obtain project pricing from selected vendors
- Transmit final Bid Documents to applicable contractors as well as SYD O/S personnel. (In Job Management)
Design Build Project
- Receive project assignments from Construction Coordinator
- Review project design requirements
- Determine material / vendors needed to meet design requirements
- Obtain project pricing from selected vendor
- Transmit final Bid Documents to applicable contractors as well as SYD O/S personnel. (In Job Management)
Post Bid Responsibilities
- Collect and communicate any feedback from Customers and Salespeople to Vendors, and adjust Bid accordingly
- Relay bid result information to Construction Coordinators for reporting
- Bid follow up discussions in coordination with outside sales
- Solicit buy pricing from appropriate vendors to use in assisting with project negotiations to help secure order
- Once order is awarded to SYD solicit and compile material price breakdowns
- Compile or obtain, and deliver submittal documents based on project specific requirements
- Receive and review signed, stamped and approved submittals documents
- Convert existing Solar/ Job Management bid to Sales order and produce and send Purchase orders to vendors
- Compile Project Management turnover documentation, and turn over to Construction Coordinator for project management
Other Duties
- Respond to incoming customer phone, fax, and email requests for
- Quotation of Material
- Technical support of products
- Fixture and Lamp recommendations
- Purchase material in Solar/ Job Management as required
- Track and expedite material to meet customer timelines as needed
- Maintain Solar/ Job Management sales data by continually cancelling Bids and providing price feedback
- Participate in joint planning and sales calls with other SYD team members as well as manufacturers representatives
- Travel locally to SYD and customer locations as required
- Establish solid working relationships with individuals at Vendors, and Customers.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Minimal of three years experience in Electrical/Construction Industry
- Understanding of basic electrical principals and systems
- Electrical/Lighting industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of lighting and electrical distribution equipment products
- Experience with related computer software (Microsoft Products, Adobe Professional, CAD or CAD based Design software) that affect or touch our daily productivity
- Solar Eclipse/ Job Management experience Preferred
- Additional Information:
- Work Shift and Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. This position offers hybrid or remote work options, depending on the candidate's location. Candidates must reside in one of the following areas: Harrisburg, Williamsport, Central PA, Hazleton, or State College, all within Pennsylvania.
