Position Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for customer billing, payments, and collections for the Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC Business Units, Plants and Functional Groups. This position reports to the Director of Accounting for Schaefer Plastics North America, LLC. The Accounts Receivable Specialist performs the trade receivable collection process, monitors, analyzes, and communicates with customer accounts, Company management and sales representatives to keep all informed of customer account status.
Essential Functions:
- Complete Waste and Packaging customer billing (automated and manual).
- Assist with the collections for Waste and Packaging including the escalation process for past due invoices per company policy.
- Record customer payments.
- Create New Customer Setup Validation (including payment terms) in ERP system.
- Complete Customer Statements Reconciliation.
- Release orders on hold when appropriate in ERP system.
- Process credit memos timely in ERP system.
- Complete research and questions received from customers and business partners via email and/or phone calls.
- G/L and customer account Reconciliations.
- Assist with yearly internal and external audit.
- Routine and ad hoc requests or any other requested as assigned tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position currently has no supervisor responsibilities but, should be capable of training and directing the work of other people as needed.
Qualification Requirements:
- Min. 1 Year work experience in an AR accounting environment would prefer manufacturing or larger corporation experience.
- Prefer bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related degree.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, professionally, an assertively in both written and verbal forms with people at all professional levels in the knowledge of general accounting, accounts receivable processes, and sales and purchasing agreements.
- Experienced user level of MS Office products, especially Excel and Word
- Microsoft Dynamics AX experience is a plus.
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities with tight deadlines.
