Objective
To deliver and install propane gas and other Schagrin Home Comfort Products equipment and merchandise for residential and commercial customers in a safe and professional manner.
Essential Functions
- Install propane gas piping systems, tanks, cylinders, appliances, etc. as needed.
- Follow instructions for the pickup, transportation and delivery of propane in a safe manner.
- Capable of operating a Bobtail Delivery Truck.
- General knowledge of how to restart gas appliances and check for gas leaks.
- Maintain records of all work performed and materials used.
- Suspend service and/or collect monies as needed.
- Maintain equipment and vehicles in excellent condition by performing necessary maintenance (fluid levels).
- Check with Dispatch before leaving any location for additional instructions or deliveries.
- Reports problems at the time of the delivery to Supervisor.
- Always represents Schagrin Home Comfort Products in a professional and courteous manner.
Non-Essential Functions
- Reports directly to the VP of Propane Ops South, may obtain direction from Warehouse Supervisor and others.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties assigned to the position.
- Treats customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Report all accidents and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Required to be “on call” for emergency services, once properly trained.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a minimum 1 year of experience working with propane gas.
- Must have a valid Class B CDL with an X endorsement, in good standing.
- Must have a valid DOT medical card.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of operating various power tools.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the position.
- Capable of working in an environment that is both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment many times during the course of the day's work.
- Must comply with Schagrin Home Comfort Products drug & alcohol testing policy.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
