Job Summary: The Maintenance Lead is responsible for mentoring and overseeing the maintenance team by performing coachings tasks and ensuring that all duties are completed efficiently. The Maintenance Lead will have direct oversight of building maintenance, including preventative measures and security within the assigned zone. This role includes both leadership and hands-on maintenance responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of all facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead Responsibilities:
- Review the status of open work orders daily for each building on the assigned shift.
- Assign and monitor work order tasks across all buildings within the assigned shift.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment within the school district when needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and critical situations.
- Perform carpentry tasks, such as constructing shelves and cabinets, and repair desks, tables and chairs when needed.
- Inspect, repair, or replace plumbing systems and fixtures when needed.
- Respond to fire, burglar, mechanical equipment, and power failure alarms.
- Make minor electrical installations and repairs when needed.
- Repair small equipment when needed.
- Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance on fire alarms, burglar alarms, pumps, boilers, HVAC equipment, and other systems as needed.
- Assist with snow plowing duties as needed, including Snow Command responsibilities.
- Carry out tasks as designated by the Assistant Director of Operations and Maintenance.
- Perform any additional duties as designated by the Director of Operations and Maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge in heating, air conditioning, and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge in fire and burglar alarms.
- Knowledge of Carpentry, Plumbing, Electric and small equipment repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Self-sufficient and capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach employees.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel materials. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
