As a VDP (Variable Data Print) Operator, you will be responsible for preparing and processing personalized data-driven communication materials. Your role involves setting up templates, merging variable data with static text and graphics, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of printed and digital materials. You will work closely with other team members to meet production deadlines and maintain high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and prepare variable data print and digital projects using common VDP software as well as Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Excel.
- Set up templates, lay out variable fields with static text and graphics, and merge data for proofing and printing.
- Generate soft and live proofs for review and approval.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve variable data programming or formatting issues.
- Ensure that all output meets USPS regulations and other postal requirements when applicable.
- Maintain documentation of processes and project details for future reference.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production deadlines and improve workflow efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proficiency in VDP software, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Excel (experience with other programming languages is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform data validation and quality checks.
- Ability to troubleshoot VDP-related issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Experience in the print or communications industry is required.
- Basic knowledge of USPS regulations and mailing requirements is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
