Job Description:
Schnabel Engineering is seeking a highly skilled MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Inspector to join our distinguished team for a project located in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will be playing an essential role in our team, ensuring every project we undertake observes the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
Carrying out meticulous inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations on various construction sites.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
Evaluating technical documents, blueprints, schematics, and understanding specifications.
Reporting inspection findings, maintaining organized inspection records and preparing comprehensive reports.
Required Skills/Experience:
- A comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Minimum 5 years experience within a similar role in the construction industry as a MEP inspector or in the trades.
- Proficiency in interpreting and working with architectural plans and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with builders, contractors and regulatory authorities.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of local and international building codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IPC).
Required Skills/Experience:
- Valid professional certifications (e.g., NICET, ICC)
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
The compensation range for this position is between $60/hour to $70/hour. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
