Associate Category Manager - Contract Manufacturing

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for an Jr. Assoc Category Manager – EMS/CM in our El Paso, Texas location.

What do you get to do in this position?

• EMS/ CM commodity group belongs to Global Supply Chain EE market, covering PCBA and Fabricated Finished Good SKUs for SE. The global spend is nearly 1B Euro for this commodity.
• The job involves:
• Working Cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain.
• Acting as liaison between Regional Procurement and Global Procurement
• Supplier Relationship management with EMS/CM partners
• He/she acts as the key interface between =S= and the Supplier facilitating bi-directional communication on major topics that are either recurrent or spanning multiple entities.
• A full-time position in light of the complexity of the interaction between SE and specific suppliers.

Responsibilities:

Be the key contact between Schneider Electric and the Supplier and thus facilitate bi-directional communication:

• Drive regionalization activities, requiring strong collaboration between engineering, procurement, supply chain, and finance.
• Procurement lead, required to work closely with other functions to ensure timely deployment of projects in adherence with schedule
• Work closely with our category management team to reduce cost and ensure we’re launching product as best cost with preferred AVL
• Supplier Leader for focal point to communicate Supplier strategy internally
• Lead productivity ideas for the region, both engineering changes and change of suppliers for EMS and CM
• Consolidate internal needs from Schneider entities (BUs and Operations) and define areas of business development opportunities with Supplier
• Negotiate with Supplier on behalf of all SE entities including Supplier performance and productivity objectives
• Organize regular management meetings with Supplier to monitor strategic plan deployment

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 3 years procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment focused on fabrication 
• Ability to influence and convince internal and external stakeholders, aligning to EMS/CM Strategy
• Negotiation skills and Supplier relationship management  in a complex and moving environment
• Ability to work in multicultural and cross functional mode, strong operational and strategical Skills, ability to deliver on time, work in project mode, meet deadlines, push decision
