Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Buyer (Upstream Flow Controller) at our Lincoln NE plant.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing supplier contacts, replenishing backlogs, and ensuring a continuous flow of material into the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuous flow of incoming raw material, components, and sub-assemblies
- Manage supplier contacts and networks through the purchasing database (Supply Side Platform Portal)
- Replenish backlog by creating and rescheduling purchase orders
- Coordinate Open Purchase Order Management and/or Order scheduling
- Monitor and improve supplier performance through established KPIs
- Work with suppliers on late orders, confirmation details, etc.
- Take daily action regarding material requirements planning (MRP) messages & escalate when issues repeat
- Participate in continuous improvement and short interval management (SIM)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations or related field
- 3 years' experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain is preferred
- Proficient in SAP or other ERP systems is preferred
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with applications (e.g., access, excel)
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship and collaborative management skills
- Strong negotiation skills are a plus
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, oral) is required
