For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $180,000-$210,000.00 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position Summary:
Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity within the ASCO line of business for a highly talented, motivated, solution minded individual for the position of Key Account Manager.
This individual will be responsible to develop, manage, and execute, on a full-time basis, a business strategy for highly strategic retail customers within the Cloud & Service Provider (C&SP) (Data Center) and Federal market segments. The Key Account Manager will focus on the Mid-Atlantic regional markets (OH, PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA & WV) with and in support of the local ASCO sales offices in increasing the sale of products & solutions to the targeted market segments through the various go to market channels. The Key Account Manager will be responsible in driving the broader business strategy for success in these markets primarily through the cultivation of relationships up channel (Electrical Contractors, General Contractors, End Users, etc.).
You must live or be willing to relocate to the DC Metro area.
Key Responsibilities:
The role will guide the implementation of his or her business plan; achieving all financial targets including revenue and orders, profitability, and pipeline goals. This individual is responsible for collaboration with key stakeholders from multiple business units to drive success. He or she will serve as the liaison between Schneider Electric in the ASCO line of business and his or her account(s); providing regional market leadership for both C&SP and Federal segments. He or she will deliver key segment value propositions as well as collaborate with national vertical segment managers to leverage our marketing assets. Finally, the candidate will align with project delivery resources to ensure a VIP customer experience, throughout the sales, delivery, and service life cycle.
What do you get to do in this position?
- Develop strategy and deliver on business plan for penetration rates, orders, revenue, margin and cash for the complete ASCO portfolio of business in collaboration with peers.
- Lead multi-functional teams to drive customer satisfaction and growth; provide single point of contact to customer and stakeholders
- Build customer relationships and communication at all levels, focusing on key decision makers at Business Development and Operations-suite as well as working closely with decision makers
- Conduit for solutions…detailed understanding of customer’s business model and how Schneider’s products, software and services deliver added value to customers
- Manage associated contractual issues to support project and transactional business needs
- Set regular cadence for collaboration / reviews with necessary stakeholders
- Build a clear communications strategy (internally & externally)
- Collaborate with the Schneider Electric Data Center Solutions, Secure Power and SE Federal teams to leverage existing relationships to expand opportunities with additional data center & federal accounts
- Understand Data Center and Federal Industry trends and have in depth product/application knowledge of emergency power applications
- Maintain membership in national trade organizations and represent ASCO through speaking engagements
- Coordinate and assist in customer training programs
- Drive C-Level engagement between SE and the account’s key decision makers and position SE strategically as a customer and supplier
Opportunity Management
- Grow the business through active management of all investment, partnering opportunities and projects
- Partner with and coach relevant stakeholders to identify, qualify and capture opportunities and improve hit rate
Extended Team Management
- Functionally lead the relevant stakeholders to profitably grow revenues with a strong emphasis on solutions selling, digital, services and sustainability
- Work in close partnership with the divisions/LOBs
- Identify & share best practices

- Significant sales experience with a deep understanding of strategic account management, customers, sales channels and third parties, with a demonstrated track record of growing business. Retail segment experience is a plus.
- Excellent networking and customer relationship skills. Ability to create relationships quickly across customers’ organizations.
- Deep understanding of the Data Center and Federal market segments
- Experience in presenting as a thought leader to key stakeholders/large groups.
- Successful track-record influencing executives across a customer’s organization (VP and above-level selling; ideally C-level selling)
- A strong capacity to foster collaboration and work transversally across the organization.
- Experience in consultative selling, account, and customer relationship development at senior levels, as well as running complex high value sales strategies of multiple complex transactions.
- Solid understanding of energy management, backup power and industry-specific problems & technology
- A strong ability to understand complex requirements, able to clearly communicate client needs, challenge the client on solutions and close a deal.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as negotiation and influencing skills in a multicultural & matrix environment – both with internal organizations’ and within client organizations.
- Strong ability to leverage social networking and alternative strategies to obtain and foster client networks within and around key clients
- Experience and skill in working via strategic alliance or mutual client engagements with customer/partner.
- Strong ability to leverage tools: PowerPoint, Excel, CRM (Salesforce or similar) to manage and drive a large portfolio of business.
- Capability and desire to travel 50-60%.
Education Requirements
- 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
- Preferably Engineering or Business degree or equivalent work experience
- Strategic Account Manager Certification (CSAM) program, (SAMA) or similar a strong plus.
