Schneider Electric has an opportunity this Summer 2025 for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in our Columbia, SC, location. This intern will have the opportunity to gain exposure to real-life initiatives, projects and resume boosting experience within a Fortune 500 company.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, testing, and analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process sheets and work instructions.
  • Conduct research to identify new manufacturing technologies and methods.
  • Work with the engineering team to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help in the design and execution of experiments to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to safety protocols in the manufacturing environment.
  • Provide support in various projects as needed, including drafting reports and presenting findings.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and tools.
