Job overview :
- Act as the main liaison between Schneider drivers and diesel technicians as a Senior Diesel Service Advisor in Wilmer.
- Perform minor repairs and administrative duties that support the day-to-day operations of a shop.
Responsibilities :
- Retrieve truck fault codes to diagnose problems and make appropriate repair decisions.
- Perform general shop duties, such as answering phone calls, writing service requests, estimating repair times and performing some minor repairs.
- Maintain open lines of communication with drivers by providing status updates on repair decisions and wait times.
- Assist with inventory management by ensuring parts needed for a repair are in stock and submitting parts requests when they’re not.
Skills and qualifications :
- Technical degree in diesel technology or related field or minimum of two years of diesel service advisor experience.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
