REPORTS TO: Special Education Administrator
EVALUATION: Educators will be observed annually and evaluated in accordance of the Raymond Educator Effectiveness Plan
SUPERVISES: Paraeducators
GENERAL SUMMARY: The school case manager is a certified special educator who according to federal, state, and district regulations, designs and monitors Individual Education Plans, and provides direct instruction to meet the needs of students who have an educational disability and requires special education services.
QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED):
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
A valid New Hampshire Teacher’s Certificate (applicable level-area endorsements preferred.)
Comply with the Standards for Ethical and Professional Performance established by the State Board of Education
Knowledge of NHSEIS
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to present written documents that are clear, concise, and grammatically correct.
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member, well organized and flexible
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Provide supports and services required to meet students needs and goals outlined in the IEPs
Provide specialized academic instruction and intervention for students with disabilities
Develop curriculum for Alternative Assessments (MAPS)
Schedule and facilitate parent meetings
Administer and score academic assessments and evaluations
Plan supports and accommodations for students pertaining to state and district assessments
Conduct and write results of student observations
Work collaboratively with administration, colleagues, and parents
Supervises and works collaboratively with paraprofessionals in regards to students’ plans and progress
Is an active member of subject or grade level teams
Communicates effectively with parents and attends parent conferences
Meets deadlines and adhere to due process standards set by the state
Attend field trips to support individual or small groups of students
Communicate with administration regarding student discipline and create behavior plans for specific students
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend staff meetings
Perform duties assigned by the school administrator
