Rate of Pay: $40/hour (up to $4,500)

Job Summary:
School City of East Chicago is seeking experienced and highly qualified Summer Tutors to provide instructional support to eligible Title I students in small group settings. Tutors will focus on English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, using standards-aligned materials that support Indiana State Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide small group instruction in ELA and/or Math to eligible Title I students.
- Use instructional materials aligned with the Indiana State Standards.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to coordinate remediation efforts and ensure instructional continuity.
- Offer regular updates and feedback on student progress to instructional staff and the Title I Office.
- Maintain accurate faculty attendance records and submit reports as required.
Schedule & Work Periods:
Tutoring and instructional support will occur during two program sessions:
- Session 1: June 1 – July 9, 2025 (closed the week of June 30)
- Session 2: July 14 – August 7, 2025
Instructional days:
- June 1 – August 14, 2025
- 5 hours per day, 5 days per week
Qualifications:
- Must be a highly qualified educator with relevant teaching experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and instructional skills in ELA and/or Mathematics.
- Valid Indiana teaching license (copy must be on file with the Title I Office).
Compensation:
- $40.00 per hour
- Paid bi-weekly
- Contract not to exceed $4,500
- Compensation contingent upon the availability of Title I funds and satisfactory completion of services
Contract Period:
- Start Date: Upon Board Approval
- End Date: August 14, 2025
- This is a temporary summer position. The agreement will terminate automatically upon completion of the program or August 14, 2025, whichever comes first.
