Position Title: Auditorium Crew Member
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Location: SCH Facilities
Overview:
The Hammond Performing Arts Program (HAPA) is seeking responsible, motivated 11th and 12th-grade high school students to assist with various tasks related to auditorium rentals at SCH facilities. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in event management, technical theater, and customer service while supporting students' graduation pathways (Bucket 2).
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of auditorium spaces for events.
- Operate and manage sound systems and technical equipment during shows.
- Provide initial consultations for building rental usage and auditorium needs.
- Support the running of shows, including lighting, stage management, and other production tasks.
- Collaborate with HAPA directors to ensure successful events.
Qualifications:
- Must be an 11th or 12th-grade high school student.
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from SCH facilities.
- Successful completion of the district's application process and interview.
- Pass a district- cost covered background check.
Training:
- Paid training provided by SCH and HAPA directors.
- Opportunities to learn and practice skills in technical theater and event management.
Additional Information:
- This position adheres to Indiana child labor laws.
- Hours worked will be structured to align with legal guidelines for minors.
- Participation in this program can count toward Bucket 2 of Indiana's graduation pathways.
