Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) School Setting
Position Overview:

Employment Type: Full-TimeThe school in Lawrence, MA, is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the health and well-being of students. The LPN will work under the supervision of the school nurse or administrator to provide direct nursing care, administer medications, and respond to medical needs within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities: Student Health & Medical Care:- Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid and emergency response.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies.
- Monitor students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, epilepsy) and provide necessary interventions.
- Assist in managing communicable diseases and promoting a healthy school environment.
- Health Records & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate health records and document student visits to the nurses office.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations.
- Assist with vision, hearing, and other health screenings.
- Support students with Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and 504 Plans.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the school nurse, teachers, parents, and administrators to support student health.
- Educate students and staff on basic health and wellness practices.
- Provide guidance on infection control and disease prevention.
- Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
- Licensure: Active Massachusetts LPN license required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with special needs or medical conditions.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) school health guidelines.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
