• Assess intellectual and educational characteristics of pupils by observing them and/or administering individual tests.
• Recommend appropriate planning for optimal educational and personality growth of pupils.
• Determine psychological eligibility for and recommend pupil placement in special programs or classes.
• Gather basic information necessary for the understanding of the pupil such as educational history and motivation patterns, and organize pertinent data into a written report.
• Confer with teachers, administrators, and other professional staff and help in the development of pupils' Individual Education Plans.
• Interpret test findings to parents as requested; counsel with parents regarding their child's potential, achievement level, and personality adjustment; recommend ways for parents to help their child and/or recommend sources from which they may seek further counseling.
• Consult with other agencies and professionals, both public and private, regarding students being served or will be served by such agencies.
• Counsel individual pupils and families regarding test findings, academic growth, social or emotional development, and general vocational goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Appropriate earned legal credential.
• Earned master's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements.
• Successful classroom teaching and counseling experiences are desirable.
• Advanced work in clinical psychology beyond the level of work required for credential is desirable.
