What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent of Schools - Expert Witness position at School Liability Expert Group?
We are seeking experienced school superintendent-level administrators to join our team to serve as expert witnesses on legal matters in the fields of education administration and child/youth services. The position entails applying the expert's education, training, and professional experience to the review and analysis of legal cases involving schools, daycares, and other youth-serving organizations. Based on the review and analysis, our experts render opinions related to the professional standard of care, write expert reports, and testify at deposition and/or trial. Our experts, with the support team of paralegals and other professionals, provide services to attorneys from case inception through resolution.
Additionally, in this position experts are expected to contribute toward the promotion of the firm by regularly publishing articles, blogs, giving presentations and seminars, and working with our marketing department to generate business leads and create promotional content for online marketing and business growth initiatives.
This position is ideal for an experienced school superintendent who is looking to apply his or her education and experience to develop a new career in the legal field. The candidates will be based out of our main Lambertville, New Jersey office or out of one of our future satellite offices on the West Coast or at other locations throughout the country. Required Qualifications
The candidate must have a doctoral degree in Education Administration and Supervision or equivalency and a minimum of six years experience as a school administrator, including at least three years as a public school superintendent. Experience with other child and youth-serving organizations such as daycares, residential programs, programs for children with disabilities, and summer camps is highly desired. Previous formal expert witness training and testimony experience is preferable, but not required. Candidate must be available to occasionally travel to the firm's home office in Lambertville, New Jersey and other states in the United States and Canada for testimony, client meetings, and site inspections.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary will be determined based on experience. Compensation/benefits package includes four weeks of paid vacation annually, 401k plan, profit sharing, company stock after demonstrated contribution to company growth, paid training, flexible schedule, and opportunity to work remotely for the right candidates. Growth opportunities include promotion to a leadership expert position at future firm satellite locations.
