SCHEDULE : Part-Time, Hourly. Monday–Friday; 9 am - 5 pm, Remote Work. 35 hours / month
SALARY : $50 / hour
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Communication Department at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) seeks a temporary media relations manager for a three-month period, reporting to the director of Communication.
Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following :
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Monitoring ongoing press coverage of the College via daily Cision digests.
- Creating a monthly Media Activity Report and Media Analytics Report from Cision reporting.
- Sending monthly roundups of SVA's public events and exhibition pitches to press, following up as needed.
- Editing campus exhibition press releases provided by academic departments.
- Writing new press releases when necessary, sending in MyEmma using lists compiled in Cision.
- Responding to incoming press inquiries.
- Executing press strategies for SVA's 2025 Commencement exercises, thesis shows / projects and other opportunities taking place during this timeframe.
- Reworking press releases and press hits into features for our website, sva.edu.
