Job Summary
The primary role of the full-time Instructor – Welding Technology as part of the teaching faculty, is to promote student success in a professional and ethical manner. Responsible for instructing and facilitating student learning; committed to student recruitment and retention; assessment of learning, development of curriculum, and the use of classroom instruction. This position is part of the teaching faculty and reports to the designated administrator.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Welding Technology or related area.
- Five (5) years of welding experience including structural plate and hollow structures.
- Current AWS Certified Welder (CW) endorsement.
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) endorsement.
- Understanding of the role of the community college in higher education and the community.
- Competent in welding ferrous and nonferrous in all positions to a code or standard.
- Competent in writing and following a Welding Procedure Specification.
- Must be able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Technology or related area.
- Two (2) or more years of post-secondary teaching experience.
- Current AWS Welder Qualification endorsement.
- Competent in AWS A2.4 and ISO 2553.
- Knowledgeable in the learning needs and abilities of today’s community college student.
- Written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills which demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively, effectively, and responsibly with community college students, faculty and staff.
- Commitment to provide service to the department, campus, and the larger community.

Work Hours
Per Faculty Contract: Approx 15 contact hrs/week for base load of Fall and Winter semesters; approx 31 weeks for base load of Fall and Winter semesters.
