Job Summary
The Program Coordinator for Fire Technology will be responsible for the oversight of comprehensive fire science programs which include basic fire academy instruction, fire science academic instruction as well as in-service training courses in cooperation with all other public safety programs and team members at the Public Safety Training Complex.
This position will be required to make data informed decisions, relying on specialized knowledge to develop strategies in the attainment of the desired objectives of an innovative training environment for all public safety programs and academies at the Schoolcraft College Public Training Complex under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Public Safety Programs.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Technology or a related field.
- Five (5) years supervisory experience in fire technology or related field.
- Ten (10) years experience as a State certified professional firefighter.
- Five (5) years experience as a State certified firefighter instructor.
- Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with students, public safety training staff, other staff members of Schoolcraft College, fire fighting organizations and Fire Fighting Training Council staff.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to prepare and present professional reports to supervisors and the training council.
- Ability to understand and operate appropriate office equipment, including personal computers and working knowledge of department-specific software.
- Ability to prepare and manage training grant funds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Fire Technology or a related field.
- Ten (10) years of supervisory experience in fire technology or a related field.
