What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Schoolcraft County Transit Authority?
· Answering incoming calls and routing vehicles by radio or mobile data terminals in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
· Promptly notifies Director, and Operations Manager of radio, vehicle, driver, maintenance, customer, or other pertinent concerns.
· Maintain daily records, time sheets, summaries, trouble and miscellaneous reports.
· Assist in accident and incident reporting as well as customer concerns. Respond to emergency requests for assistance by notification of police, fire or ambulance as needed.
· Oversee vehicle assignment and the status of vehicles with mechanics.
· Perform all functions of a Driver as needed.
· Responsible for driver check-ins and counting of fare boxes.
· Responsible for reconciling money, weekly deposits, preparing reports.
· Responsible for preparing bills, and printing checks, along with reconciling bank account.
· Any other activities as required or requested by the management.
Qualifications
- Strong logistics and dispatching skills
- Excellent communication and phone etiquette
- Proficient in typing and data entry
- Familiarity with transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management
- Experience with GIS and GPS technologies
- Knowledge of supply chain and transportation planning
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems and fleet management tasks
