Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

We are looking for a talented Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)   to join our team for the school year.

Responsibilities would include :

• Provide screening and assessments
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans to support students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence.
• Work with students in one-on-one, small group, and classroom settings to improve fine motor skills, handwriting, self-care tasks, and sensory regulation.
• Support students in developing adaptive behaviors to enhance participation in school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other therapists to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom.
• Communicate regularly with OTs, teachers, and parents to monitor student progress.
• Provide training and resources to teachers and staff on adaptive equipment, sensory strategies, and accommodations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by providing input on student needs and progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and student responses.
• Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and re-evaluations as needed.
• Support students with positioning, mobility, and use of assistive technology to improve access to learning.
• Recommend and implement modifications to classroom environments to enhance student participation.
• Assist in adapting materials, tools, and instructional methods to fit students’ motor and sensory needs.
